There will be NO Great Starts tomorrow morning, Wednesday, March 15th.

Third graders learned about heart health and had fun jumping rope in PE today. Thank you, Ms. McCauley, for the pictures!

Students had more fun in the snow today, making snowmen! Thank you, Ms. McCauley, for the pictures!

We had great fun playing in the snow at recess today! Thank you, Ms. McCauley and Mrs. Tardif, for the pictures!

The whole school read in their PJ's for nearly an hour on Friday. The PTA provided delicious fresh-popped popcorn and juice boxes at the end. Fourth grade went out last week on an unseasonably nice warm day.

100th Day 2023 and it's 57 degrees at recess today! Enjoy some great photos, thanks to Mrs. Polizotto, Mrs. Tardif, and Mrs. Woodbury. You can see we had some good laughs when our 1st and 2nd graders, and their teachers, dressed up as 100-yr olds for the 100th day of school.

Here are a couple preschoolers sharing their love of reading. Remember Read-A-Thon pledge sheets and money are due Monday, February 27th. Any checks should be made to Phippsburg Elementary School or PES. Thank you for your support!

“Spreading the love”
Mrs. Smith asked for volunteers to fill the halls with love and kindness, fifth graders Adeline Belanger, Alyssa Giggey, Ayla Otis, Sloan Hersom, Sophie Rowan & Sunny Rowan all eagerly volunteered and even gave up their recess to participate. Decorating messages in the spirit of Valentine's day this group of fifth graders put great effort into crafting beautiful messages to cheer up the students at Phippsburg Elementary School. They can be found all around the school saying things like, “Follow your dreams” “you are loved” and “Be kind.”

Ashley Hoskins shared photos from the February 8th trip to Hidden Valley Nature Center GATE Day

Ms. Smith shared her photo of another student reading for the Read-A-Thon. And Mrs. Hutchinson shared a few photos of her third graders and their parents at their publishing party last Friday.

Mrs. Williams shared some photos of second grade's visit to the Maine Maritime Museum yesterday. We hope everyone is having fun with the Read-A-Thon, and recording their reading time on their reading logs. Here are a few photos of staff enjoying their books.

Students are reading for this month's Read-A-Thon, "For the Love of Reading." And we've included some photos of the 4th & 5th grade field trip to Merrill Auditorium to listen to Wabanaki Stories today.

Students are having fun playing in the snow this week! Mrs. Hutchinson shares her photos here.

Fifth graders had a blast snow shoeing with Ms. McCauley in PE today!

Student gardening with the Lettuce Grow hydroponic tower in the lobby.

The students wrote their ideas on how to bring peace to the world on snowflakes for the Martin Luther King Jr. Peace Tree in Library this week.

From Mrs. Tardif:
Today we read How To Catch a Snowman. Then we mixed up puffy paint with glue, shaving cream and glitter. The first graders created their own snowmen!

Here are just a few photos from our recent trimester awards assembly. Thank you for taking the photos Mrs. Polizotto!

Our touch tank is up and running! First-grade students help volunteer Callie Wells feed the inhabitants.
